Playing in his first “El Clásico” in front of fans, USMNT and FC Barcelona full back Sergiño Dest experienced agony and joy over the course of 90 minutes as the home side fell 2-1 to Real Madrid on Sunday.

With the game scoreless in the 25th minute, the ball fell to Dest open in the penalty area, but he fired his effort from 12 yards over the crossbar. Madrid found the opening goal through David Alaba seven minutes later and despite pushing for an equalizer, Barcelona surrendered a second to David Vázquez in second-half stoppage time.

After Madrid went up two, Dest made amends for his earlier miss, dishing a pass to Sergio Aguero deep into injury time, cutting the lead to 2-1 before the full-time whistle blew. The consolation assist was the USA full back’s third assist of the season and second in as many matches.

GOALS FOR ROLDAN, LLETGET, DIKE

Cristian Roldan's sixth goal of the campaign lifted Seattle Sounders FC to a 1-1 draw with the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday night. The result ensured Seattle of a top-four seed in the MLS Western Conference playoff field.

After Dominique Badji lifted Colorado into the lead in the 66th minute, Roldan responded with an equalizer 15 minutes later. After receiving a long pass behind the defense, Leo Chú held off two defenders before he sent in a low cross that the midfielder tapped in for his fifth goal in six matches across all competitions.

On Saturday night, Roldan assisted on a 58th-minute equalizer in a 2-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City. João Paulo sent a corner kick to Roldan, who headed it to Nicolas Benezet as he re-directed the ball into goal. Roldan also has six assists this season.

Sebastian Lletget scored his first LA Galaxy goal in five months, pulling the side into a 2-2 draw with FC Dallas on Saturday night. With the home side trailing 2-1 late, the halftime substitute got free in the box before volleying home a cross from Samuel Grandsir in the 83rd minute.

It was Lletget's first MLS goal since he found the net in a 2-0 win over Austin FC on May 15. He has two goals and four assists this season. The fifth-place Galaxy (14-11-7, 46 points) is trying to secure one of seven MLS Cup Playoff spots in the Western Conference.

Daryl Dike's fourth goal in six games gave Orlando City a 2-0 lead at home against the New England Revolution on Sunday night. He converted a penalty kick past USMNT teammate Matt Turner in the 50th minute after Nani was fouled in the box. Dike has seven goals and three assists this season for Orlando (12-8-11, 47), which solidified its fourth-place standing in the Eastern Conference.

The Revs, who were crowned Supporters Shield champs earlier in the day, rallied with two late goals to force a 2-2 draw. Turner made three saves in the match.

A PRODUCTIVE WEEK FOR FR

Jesús Ferreira enjoyed an exceptional week, registering a goal and two assists, although FC Dallas could record only muster a draw and a point.

In a 3-2 home loss to the Los Angeles FC on Wednesday night, Ferreira set up two first-half goals. He assisted on Ryan Hollingshead's 10th-minute score and had the second assist on Franco Jara's tally in the 45th minute.

In the 2-2 tie with the Galaxy on Saturday night, Ferreira scored his seventh goal, giving Dallas a 1-0 lead on the half hour when he curled home a shot from outside the penalty area past goalkeeper Jonathan Bond.

VINES BACK IN ACTION

After suffering a broken collarbone in early September, left back Sam Vines returned to action this week for Royal Antwerp. The USMNT full back made his first appearance in six weeks, going 90 minutes in Thursday’s 2-2 draw at Fenerbahce in UEFA Europa League play. He followed that up with another complete game in a 1-1 draw with Club Brugge on Sunday.

GIOACCHINI DRAWS PENALTY

Winger Nicholas Gioacchini has continued making the most of his time off the bench for Montpellier. Entering Sunday’s match at Monaco with the club down 3-0 in the 65th minute, Gioacchini drew three fouls, including an 81st minute penalty kick which was converted to take the final score to 3-1.
