Official Slate of Candidates Confirmed for 2022 U.S. Soccer Presidential Election

CHICAGO (Jan. 10, 2022) – The official slate of candidates to stand for election as President of the U.S. Soccer Federation has been confirmed today by the Nominating and Governance Committee of U.S. Soccer.

A total of two candidates successfully met the requirements to be entered in the election, which will take place during the National Council Meeting at U.S. Soccer’s Annual General Meeting on March 5, 2022, in Atlanta.

2022 U.S. Soccer Presidential Candidates (listed alphabetically): Carlos Cordeiro, Cindy Parlow Cone

To be placed on the ballot, candidates had to meet two requirements:

  • The completion of a background check
  • At least three (3) letters of nomination on official letterhead from Organization Members (as defined in Bylaw 302) and/or one of three Athlete Members of the Board of Directors
