Brenden Aaronson added another winners medal to his burgeoning collection and another line to an impressive resume on Sunday, May 1.

A week after going the full 90 minutes to help Red Bull Salzburg claim another Austrian Bundesliga title, the U.S. Men's National Team midfielder played the final 27 minutes as the club closed out its 3-0 home triumph over SV Reid to capture the Austrian ÖFB Cup Final.

The 21-year-old has helped Salzburg to the Austrian double in both of his seasons with the club. Salzburg also reached the knockout round of this year's UEFA Champions League for the time.

Still with three games left to play, Aaronson has registered six goals and eight assists in 38 matches across all competitions this season.

HALFWAY THERE

Tyler Adams and RB Leipzig took a major step toward qualifying for the UEFA Europa League Final with a 1-0 win over USMNT teammate James Sands and Rangers in the first leg semifinal on Thursday, April 28.

Adams played the full 90 minutes, while Sands came on as a 83rd-minute substitute.

The second leg is set for Glasgow, Scotland on Thursday, May 5. The victor will face the winner of the other semifinal -- Eintracht Frankfurt leads West Ham United 2-1 after the first leg – in the final on May 18 in Sevilla, Spain.

A HAPPY RETURN

It was a big weekend for USMNT goalkeeper Matt Turner. On Saturday, he returned from an ankle injury suffered in February, making three saves to keep the clean sheet in the New England Revolution’s 2-0 home win against Inter Miami.

The next day he tied the knot, marrying his new wife Ashley in a ceremony in Boston.

In other USMNT goalkeeper news, Sean Johnson also saved three shots, registering his third shutout of the season and second in three games to help New York City FC to a 3-0 home win over the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday.

STAYLING ALIVE

Center back John Brooks' first goal of the campaign helped Wolfsburg register a 1-1 draw at Stuttgart on Saturday, April 30. Brooks headed in Maximilian Arnold’s corner kick in the 13th minute for the 12th-place Wolves (11-16-5, 38 points), whose place in the Bundesliga is secure with two matches remaining in the season.

It was also Brooks’ 12th career Bundesliga goal, leaving him just one back of Christian Pulisic and Timmy Chandler for fourth among U.S. internationals in the German top-flight.

TEAMING UP

Jesús Ferreira and Paul Arriola combined to score FC Dallas' second goal in its 2-2 draw at Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.

Arriola played a through ball into the path of Ferreira, who dribbled into the middle of the penalty area before sending his shot into the top right corner past goalkeeper Tim Melia to give FC Dallas the 2-1 lead in the 42nd minute.

Ferreira, who has six goals this season tallied his 24th career goal in 90 games for the visitors. That tied his father David, who recorded 24 scores in 113 appearances for Dallas from 2009-13.

EMBRACING THE PRESSURE

With the game hanging in the balance seven minutes into second-half stoppage time, Jordan Pefok converted a penalty kick to lift Young Boys to a 2-1 victory over Sion in the Swiss Super League on Sunday.

The striker powered his attempt - his 22nd league goal of the season - to the left side while goalkeeper Kevin Fickentscher dove in the opposite direction.

Pefok, who has tallied 27 times across all competitions this season, is four goals ahead of his nearest competitor in the league's Golden Boot race.

A VERY PAINFUL DROP

It turned into a very tough Saturday for Josh Sargent, who returned from a knee injury. Only 14 minutes after coming on for Norwich, the striker was subbed off with another injury in the 81st minute.

To make matters worse, the last-place Canaries (5-23-6, 21) were relegated from the English Premier League to the Championship with a 2-0 loss at Aston Villa.
