  • Eight of 11 starters represent eight different Major League Soccer clubs: Jesús Ferreira (FC Dallas), Aaron Long (LAFC), Matt Miazga (FC Cincinnati), Aidan Morris (Columbus Crew), Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders), James Sands (New York City FC), John Tolkin (New York Red Bulls), DeAndre Yedlin (Inter Miami)
  • Alan Soñora (FC Juárez) and Alex Zendejas (Club América) represent Liga MX clubs and Matt Turner (Arsenal) is the only European-based player in the Starting XI.
  • Five starters were part of the 2022 FIFA World Cup roster: Jesús Ferreira, Aaron Long, Jordan Morris, Matt Turner and DeAndre Yedlin
  • Celebrating his 29th birthday today, Matt Turner captains the USMNT for the first time tonight, making him the 30th player in team history to earn a birthday cap. Today is also substitute defender DeJuan Jones’ birthday. Should he come off the bench, it would mark the first time in team history that two players earned birthday caps in the same match.
  • The starting goalkeeper throughout the 2021 Gold Cup, Turner has conceded just one goal in six previous tournament matches and rides a four-game shutout streak in the competition into tonight’s match. Additionally, Turner has three-straight shutouts, keeping clean sheets in the 1-0 win against El Salvador on March 27, the 3-0 Nations League semifinal win against Mexico on June 15 and the 2-0 Nations League final win against Canada on June 18.
  • Three players will debut in official competition: Aidan Morris, Alan Soñora, and John Tolkin. Tonight’s appearances also cap-tie dual nationals Morris and Soñora to the United States.
  • The above trio join Jesús Ferreira and Alex Zendejas as the five starters that make their Gold Cup debuts tonight. With the five debuts, a total of 183 players will have appeared for the USMNT in the Concacaf Gold Cup since 1991.
  • Having played in all six of the USA’s 2021 Gold Cup matches, James Sands and Matt Turner make their seventh consecutive Gold Cup appearances tonight.
  • Jordan Morris has two goals in his three previous appearances against Jamaica. The veteran winger scored a memorable 88th minute winner to help the USA to a 2-1 victory against the Reggae Boyz in the 2017 Gold Cup Final. Earlier that year, he tallied the only goal in a 1-0 win against Jamaica on Feb. 5 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
  • The leading cap-winner on the current roster, DeAndre Yedlin will make his first Gold Cup appearance since July 25, 2015 against Jamaica.
  • Aaron Long and Matt Miazga pair in central defense for the third time tonight. The duo partnered during twice during the 2019 Gold Cup, working the semifinal against Jamaica (3-1 win) and final against Mexico (1-0 loss).
  • Matt Miazga earns his first start since the 2-1 win at Northern Ireland on March 28, 2021.
  • Six reserves would make their Gold Cup debuts should they come off the bench tonight: Cade Cowell, DeJuan Jones, Jalen Neal, Bryan Reynolds, Gaga Slonina and Brandon Vazquez. Should Cowell, Slonina or Vazquez appear, they would also become cap-tied to the United States.
  • Julian Gressel has been excused from camp this week due to the pending birth of his child.
  • Five substitutions are allowed in three different moments. Halftime does not count as a substitution moment.
  • Video assistant referee will be used for all matches in the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup.
  • The USA holds a 19-3-9 advantage in the all-time series against Jamaica and is 12-2-7 against the Reggae Boyz in competitive matches.
  • The USMNT is 6-1-0 all-time in Gold Cup matches against Jamaica. This match marks the fifth consecutive tournament the two sides will meet and it’s only the second time the teams have faced off in the group stage with the first coming in 1993.
  • Cesar Ramos of Mexico is the referee for tonight’s match. The USMNT is 3-3-3 in matches officiated by Ramos, which includes the 1-0 win against Jamaica in the 2021 quarterfinals. He last officiated the 1-1 draw at El Salvador on June 14, 2022 in Concacaf Nations League play.
