ATLANTA (Sept. 27, 2025) – U.S. Soccer has announced that goalkeeper Gavin Beavers will replace Diego Kochen on the U.S. roster for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The Brøndby goalkeeper joins the squad after Kochen was recalled by his club, FC Barcelona.

The 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup tournament regulations state a player can be replaced on the roster if he is not released by his club for the tournament. While Kochen was initially released, FIFA has approved him being replaced on the roster after being recalled.

The USA will open the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup on Monday, Sept. 29 against New Caledonia (7 p.m. ET; FS1, Universo), continues Group E play against France on Thursday, Oct. 2 (4 p.m. ET; FS2, Universo) and closes the group stage against South Africa on Sunday, Oct. 5 (4 p.m. ET; FS2, Telemundo).
