LA NUCIA, Spain (Jan. 11, 2026) – The U.S. Under-17 Women’s National Team drew 2-2 with Germany in the first of two friendly matches in Spain during its January training camp.

The United States scored first and it came when forward Maddie DiMaria played a through ball to forward Deus Stanislaus, who dribbled around German goalkeeper Mirja Kropp and slotted the ball in the back of the net.

The U.S. would make it 2-0 just before the end of the first half. After a German turnover in the midfield, Stanislaus passed to Amari Manning on the run. The midfielder sped down the left side before finishing to double the USA’s lead in the 41st minute.

Unfortunately, the USA could not hold that lead despite peppering Germany with nine shots on goal and forcing seven saves over the course of the match, Germany struck just after the halftime kickoff. In the 46th minute, Clara Choisy intercepted a pass between U.S. defenders and buried Germany’s first of the day.

Germany’s Mia Kuhn then equalized in the 76th minute, ripping a shot from the top of the box which U.S. goalkeeper Avellina Saunders initially saved but Kuhn followed her rebound and knocked it home to tie the match.

The U.S. continued to push through the final whistle but neither team could find a game-winner.

Seventeen players named to this roster by U.S. U-17 WNT head coach Ciara Crinion were born in 2009, the birth year cut-off for players to be eligible for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be staged in Morocco. Midfielder Loradana Paletta was born in 2011 with midfielder Gigi Zuniga and Saunders born in 2010.

Seven players on the roster for the Spain trip helped the USA win the 2024 Concacaf Girls’ U-15 Championship: forwards Carolina Reyna, DiMaria, Manning and Stanislaus, midfielders Mia Corona and Paletta, and goalkeeper Ella McNeal. That team was also coached by Ciara Crinion.
