U.S. Soccer, Virgil Abloh Archive, Nike Team Up for Culture-Forward X2 Collection

On the eve of the U.S. Men’s National Team’s first FIFA World Cup match on home soil in 32 years, U.S. Soccer, Nike, the Virgil Abloh Archive (V.A.A.), Coalitions for Sport Equity, Volkswagen and Powerade haveofficially dropped a culture-forward product collaboration: the X2 Collection.
Blending sport, culture and design into a statement partnership with purpose, the X2 Collection is anchored by the 2026 USMNT pre-match top and is further complemented by an assortment of lifestyle apparel and accessories, including hats, backpacks and long sleeves.
For U.S. Soccer, V.A.A. draws from nautical Americana and vintage sailing aesthetics, reimagining graphics from the 1994 FIFA World Cup—the last time the tournament landed on American soil. The result is a collection that bridges two landmark moments in American soccer history: the FIFA World Cup in both 1994 and in 2026.
With an overt graphic design language that nods to Virgil Abloh’s legacy, the collection builds on the house’s most iconic codes to craft something distinctly new that honors the past while boldly shaping the future of American football culture.
Additionally, Coalitions for Sport Equity—a community impact partner that shares Virgil Abloh's commitment to expanding access, opportunity and youth sport equity—helps extend the X2 Collection beyond apparel, connecting the collaboration to broader efforts that use sport as a vehicle for community engagement and cultural expression.

“It’s really just about the confidence that you exude when you’re wearing it,” USMNT defender Mark McKenzie said of the X2 Collection and pre-match top. “If you feel good, you’re going to look good, and if you look good, you’re going to play good.”
The X2 Collection challenges the idea that a pre-match top should be limited only to on-field activities, instead producing a pre-match top that is crafted with both performance and style in mind. Through this unique partnership, players and supporters alike will be able to represent their National Team with purpose and pride, whether on the pitch or out on the town.
The X2 Collection debuted during the USMNT’s Allstate Continental Clásico against Senegal on May 31, with players arriving in the rugby shirt and wearing the collection’s pre-match top on the pitch. The woven jacket and the anthem jacket followed during the team’s June 6 Coca-Cola Send-Off Match. The collection is now available for purchase online at the Official U.S. Soccer Store presented by Visa, in person at the Grand Central Terminal Pop-Up, select retail partners and via Volkswagen DriverGear.
