ATLANTA (Oct. 16, 2026) -- The U.S. Men’s Cerebral Palsy (CP) National Team delivered a dominant 5-0 win against Scotland in the second match of 2026 IFCPF World Cup group stage at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Ga.
The Americans set the tone from the start of the match, dominating possession and capitalizing on their chances early. Wesley Pincince delivered a long pass and found Jacob Kaplan just outside the box on the right side. Kaplan dribbled in, beat his defender and passed the ball to an unmarked Jacob Crumbley. Crumbley, already inside the penalty box, tapped it in and gave the U.S. the lead in the fourth minute.
One minute later, American Jonah Meyer-Crothers won the ball in the midfield and quickly made a pass to Cameron DeLillo. DeLillo drove the ball through the left side past Scottish defenders and crossed it to Kaplan. He controlled the ball and converted with another tap in for the Americans and the second goal of the match.
In the 10th minute, the U.S. defense held strong on a Scottish throw-in and quickly won the ball back in their own defensive third. Kaplan found the ball, drove towards the goal and made a quick diagonal pass to Meyer-Crothers just outside the penalty box. Meyer-Crothers finished with a left-footed shot for the early 3-0 lead.
The Scottish side had their best opportunity to score in the 33rd minute when Charles Gray found space on the right side and took a shot at goal. American goalkeeper Sean Boyle made a diving stop for the save and kept Scotland off the score sheet.
In the 42nd minute, American Shea Hammond took a corner kick that forced Scottish goalkeeper Christopher Moore to quickly punch it out. U.S. captain Josh Brunais found the ball and passed it back to Hammond who played a give-and-go with Kaplan. Hammond then passed to Meyers-Crothers, who took a shot close range that hit the crossbar and rolled into the net.
The last goal of the match came in the 52nd minute when Meyer-Crothers beat a Scottish defender on the right side and delivered an incredibly accurate cross with his left foot to Wesley Pincince on the opposite side close to goal. Pincince hit a perfect one-touch shot with his left foot into the back of the net and received a loud roar from the crowd in attendance.
In the 54th minute, USA's Adam Ballou entered the match to earn his 100th cap, becoming the fifth U.S. Extended National Team athlete to reach this milestone. He has worn the U.S. jersey for 17 years and scored his first goal in his first match on Oct. 25, 2009.
The U.S. recorded another impressive defensive performance and has not allowed a goal in the first two matches. The Americans dominated possession and played most of the match on the Scottish half. The U.S. attack tallied nine corner kicks and 14 shots on goal against Scotland and have outscored their first two opponents in group play 12-0.
Up next, the U.S. Men's Cerebral Palsy (CP) Soccer National Team will face Netherlands in the third and last group play match on Oct. 18 at (5:40 p.m. ET) at Arthur M.
