The Month Ahead: U.S. Soccer Key Dates & Major Moments in October
USMNT closes fall window against Mexico and Canada; USWNT faces top-ranked Spain in two international matches; U-17 WNT prepares for FIFA World Cup in Morocco



October is jam-packed with soccer for the senior, youth and extended national teams including major tournaments and exciting matchups. Here’s a look at some key dates to mark on your calendars this month:






After a thrilling 4-1 win against Peru and a come-from-behind 4-2 victory against Chile, the U.S. Men’s National Team will conclude its fall international window against two Concacaf rivals.
The 80th all-time meeting between the U.S. and Mexico will kick off at 7 p.m. MT/10 p.m. ET on Oct. 3 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., for the fourth edition of the “Duel in the Desert.” The USMNT will then head to St. Paul, Minn., to take on Canada at Allianz Field on Oct. 6.
The U.S. Women’s National Team will hold its first-ever camp at the new Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center next week before two highly anticipated matches against world’s top-ranked Spain. The sides will first meet on Oct. 10 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., at 2:30 p.m. ET before playing on Oct. 13 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa., at 7 p.m. ET.
The match on Oct. 10 at the home of the National Women’s Soccer League’s Washington Spirit will feature a special pre-game retirement celebration for legendary USWNT defender Crystal Dunn, who was the NWSL MVP while playing for the Spirit in 2015.
The 26-player roster features four uncapped players, as well as the return of current NWSL Golden Boot leader Ashley Sanchez, who last played for the USWNT in October of 2024.
The U.S. Men’s and Women’s Cerebral Palsy National Teams are set to compete at the 2026 IFCPF Cerebral Palsy World Cup, which will be held at the National Training Center.
The CP MNT was drawn into Group A, where it will face Canada (Oct. 14; 4:30 p.m. ET), Scotland (Oct. 16; 4:30 p.m. ET) and Netherlands (Oct. 18; 5:40 p.m. ET). The CP WNT was also draw into Group A, where it will face Finland (Oct. 15; 4:30 p.m. ET), Kenya (Oct. 17; 2 p.m. ET) and Japan (Oct. 19; 4:10 p.m. ET).

The U.S. Power Soccer National Team will soon head to Buenos Aires, Argentina to compete in the 2026 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup, which the U.S. qualified for last year by winning the 2025 APFC America’s Cup.
Head coach Tracy Mayer recently named the eight-player roster for the tournament which features six players from that America’s Cup squad, including three-time Player of the Year winner Riley Johnson and the Power NT’s all-time caps leader Jordan Dickey.

The U.S. Under-17 Women’s National Team will begin its campaign in the 2026 U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup later this month in Morocco. The team was drawn into Group E, where it will face Samoa (Oct. 19; 1 p.m. ET), Kenya (Oct. 22; 1 p.m. ET) and China PR (Oct. 25; 1 p.m. ET).
Head coach Ciara Crinion recently named the 21-player roster, 14 of which were part of the U.S. team that finished atop the group at the Final Round of the 2026 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Qualifiers to earn a berth to this World Cup.
Major League Soccer clubs Columbus Crew and St. Louis CITY SC will battle it out on Oct. 21 at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field in Columbus, Ohio, for the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup title.
The Crew reached its fourth U.S. Open Cup Final after defeating Orlando City SC in the semifinal, while St. Louis makes its tournament final debut after defeating the Colorado Rapids. The Final kicks off at 8 p.m. ET, and fans can watch on Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network.
