Presenting a towering figure at 6-4, Miazga rose through the New York Red Bulls Academy to become a regular starter for the club’s first team. Though he did appear in the Polish Youth National Team setup, Miazga eventually chose the United States, rising from the U.S. U-18 side to his first full cap with the U.S. Men’s National Team at the end of 2015.

A stellar cog in the Red Bulls back line during their 2015 MLS Supporters Shield campaign, Miazga earned a high-profile transfer to English giants Chelsea FC in January 2016 and went on loan to gain valuable playing time with Dutch side Vitesse that summer. The exciting young center back earned a regular place in the starting XI, helping the club to its first trophy when it won the 2016-17 KNVB Beker and returned on loan for a second season in August 2017.

Career highlights:

  • Part of the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup-winning side and scored his first international goal in dramatic fashion, heading home late against Nicaragua to give the USA the necessary 3-0 win to ensure a top of the group finish.
  • Helped Dutch Eredivisie side Vitesse win its first trophy as he anchored the backline in their run to the KNVB Beker in 2017.
  • Departed January Camp early in order to complete a high-profile move to English Premier League club Chelsea on Jan. 30, 2016.
  • Earned his first U.S. MNT cap at the age of 20, coming on as a substitute in the side’s 6-1 World Cup Qualifying victory against St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Nov. 13, 2015
