A confident and pacey midfielder, Darlington Nagbe was long-tracked by the USMNT program. He finally gained his U.S. citizenship in September 2015, which allowed him to make his debut two months later.
Nagbe’s smarts at both ends of the field and ability in 1-on-1 situations allowed him to quickly adapt to the international game, which provided a strong option in the midfield. After a transitional year with the MNT in 2016, Nagbe became a first-team regular in 2017.
