USWNT vs. Korea Republic VW CHAMP Player Honoree: Aubri

October 26th International Friendly – USWNT v. Korea Republic – St. Paul, MN

Aubri was diagnosed with Pre-b Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the young age of three. After four long and grueling years, she finally finished treatment when she was nearly seven years old. Over the course of her treatment, Aubri spent many nights in the hospital, too many hours in her clinic receiving chemotherapy, underwent four surgeries, and so much more.

Thankfully, once she finished treatment, Aubri found a love for soccer. It was an escape for her to play soccer and to be around other children with similar interests and experiences.

One day, she came across We Can Kick It, a wonderful foundation that helps children who have experienced cancer to be active and enjoy the sport. Here she met the foundation’s founder, Adrian, who has worked closely with Aubri to teach her more about soccer and has also allowed her to connect with friends who similarly love the sport and understand all she’s been through. To this day, Aubri remains happiest when she is playing soccer surrounded by her favorite people in the world.

Aubri recently celebrated eight years off treatment and continues to thrive every single day, regardless of what is thrown her way.
