  • Eight players from the 2022 FIFA World Cup roster will start tonight against El Salvador: Sergiño Dest, Weston McKennie, Yunus Musah, Christian Pulisic, Tim Ream, Gio Reyna, Antonee Robinson, and Matt Turner.
  • Center back Miles Robinson returns to the USA lineup for the first time since suffering a torn achilles last May for Atlanta United. Robinson last played the night the USMNT qualified for the World Cup on March 30, 2022 against Costa Rica, and led all center backs with 11 appearances in World Cup qualifying.
  • Robinson also scored the first of his three international goals at Exploria Stadium, heading home from close range in the USA’s 7-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago on Jan. 31, 2021.
  • Earning his first start since July 29, 2021 against Qatar, former Orlando City striker Daryl Dike will make his 10th USMNT appearance tonight in the familiar confines of Exploria Stadium. The 22-year-old began his professional career in Orlando, scoring 18 goals in 35 matches for the Lions from 2020-2021.
  • Alex Zendejas earns his first start in official competition. The Club America winger became cap-tied to the USA and scored his first international goal in last Friday’s 7-1 win at Grenada.

  • With a goal and two assists on Friday night, Christian Pulisic continues to ascend the USMNT’s offensive scoring charts. With 57 caps to his name, the 24-year-old already has more goals and goals+assists than any player in USMNT history at the same point in their international careers and sits just behind Landon Donovan and Eddie Lewis on the assists list.

  • Pulisic’s four goals at Orlando’s Exploria Stadium are the most at any ground he’s represented the USMNT. Three of those goals came a year ago today, when he tallied a hat trick in the 5-1 win against Panama to put the USA on the doorstep of World Cup qualification on March 27, 2022.
  • Pulisic is joined by Yunus Musah, Gio Reyna, Antonee Robinson and Miles Robinson as the five starters that appeared in that match against Panama last March.
  • Both Matt Turner and Daryl Dike made their USMNT debuts at Orlando’s Exploria Stadium in the 7-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago on Jan. 31, 2021. Turner became the first USMNT goalkeeper to save a penalty in his debut when he stopped Alvin Jones’ spot kick in the 66th minute.
  • Weston McKennie extends his streak of appearing in all 10 of the USMNT’s Concacaf Nations League matches. His two goals against Grenada took him to six in the competition, pushing him one ahead of Jordan Morris for the all-time team lead.
  • Gio Reyna starts back-to-back USMNT matches for the first time since the Concacaf Nations League Semifinal and Final on June 3 and June 6, 2021 against Honduras and Mexico, respectively.

  • Tim Ream and Miles Robinson will pair in central defense for the second time. They last partnered in the 0-0 draw at El Salvador to open 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification on Sept. 2, 2021.
  • Christian Pulisic captains the side for the 14th time in tonight’s contest.
  • With teams allowed to dress 23 players, defender Bryan Reynolds is a healthy scratch from the squad.
  • Five substitutions are allowed in three different moments. Halftime does not count as a substitution moment.

  • There will be no Video Assistant Referee for tonight’s match.

  • The USMNT needs a draw or win tonight in order to advance to the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League Finals to be played this June in Las Vegas. Mexico advanced out of Group A on Sunday night, while the results of the Costa Rica-Panama (Group B) and Canada-Honduras (Group C) matches will determine the other two semifinalists.

  • The USMNT is 19-1-7 all-time against El Salvador and goes into the match riding a 21-game unbeaten streak which dates back to 1992. The team is 12-0-5 against La Selecta in official competition.

  • Mario Escobar of Guatemala is the referee for tonight’s match. The USMNT is 0-1-1 in matches officiated by Escobar, which include the 1-0 defeat to Mexico in the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup Final and a 0-0 draw at Mexico in FIFA World Cup qualifying on March 24, 2022.
