U.S. Soccer Brings Beach Soccer Doubleheader vs. Trinidad & Tobago to Venice Beach, Presented by Volkswagen
Soccer Forward Foundation and LA SCORES Bring Beach Soccer Skills and Community Programming to Venice Beach

ATLANTA (May 28, 2026) — U.S. Soccer is bringing one of soccer’s most electric formats to one of the country’s most iconic cultural destinations – Venice Beach. On Sunday, June 21, the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Beach Soccer National Teams will each face Trinidad & Tobago in a Beach soccer doubleheader presented by Volkswagen of America, turning the Venice Beach shoreline into a celebration of soccer, music, culture and community during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
As another free event from U.S. Soccer this summer, fans can expect a high-energy beachside atmosphere featuring elite competition, music, fan activations and the fast-paced creativity that has made Beach soccer one of the sport’s most exciting formats. The action begins with the Beach WNT facing Trinidad & Tobago at 12:00 p.m. PT, followed by the Beach MNT also taking on Trinidad & Tobago at 1:30 p.m. PT. For the Beach WNT, the match marks the team’s first-ever on home sand since launching in 2019, while the Beach MNT will also play its first home contest since 2014.
The weekend kicks off on Saturday, June 20, with training sessions for all four teams, along with a Soccer Forward Beach Soccer Community Event. Designed to expand access to the game, the clinic will introduce youth participants from LA SCORES to the fundamentals of Beach soccer, as instructed by coaches from Cal South, an up-tempo, attack-minded version of the game, while offering participants leadership development opportunities. In partnership with LA SCORES, participants will have the opportunity to train alongside U.S. Beach Soccer National Team players on the sands of Venice Beach.
By removing barriers to play and creating more inclusive opportunities to participate, the Soccer Forward Foundation is working to ensure more people, regardless of age, background or experience level, can play all iterations of the game anywhere.
“It’s important that soccer in this country reflects all its forms and places where it can be played,” said Stuart Sharp, Head of Extended National Teams at U.S. Soccer. “For our Beach National Teams, playing at home really matters. It lets our athletes represent the crest in front of U.S. fans and brings an exciting, high-level version of the game right to the community. Beach soccer is fast, creative, and unique, and events like this show that there are many ways to get involved in the sport and live the dream of representing our country.”
This event reflects U.S. Soccer’s broader vision to meet fans where soccer culture already lives, blending sports, entertainment, community and creativity while expanding how people experience the game during a historic summer for soccer in the United States.
“At Volkswagen, we believe in the power of sport to bring people together and create meaningful connections within communities,” said Rachael Zaluzec, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience and Brand Marketing, Volkswagen of America. “As Beach soccer continues to gain momentum across our country, we’re proud to support its growth through our partnership with U.S. Soccer, bringing this fast-paced and exciting game to fans in new and unexpected ways.”
Both U.S. teams bring strong international credentials into the event. The U.S. Women’s Beach Soccer National Team, established in 2019, has quickly emerged as a global force, winning multiple international tournaments, most recently at the 2026 Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup in April, and earning a place among the world’s top-ranked teams. The U.S. Men’s Beach Soccer National Team has consistently fielded a dominant side in the Concacaf region, with three regional championships and seven FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup appearances.
With more national teams than any other federation in the world, U.S. Soccer’s 27 National Teams, including nine Extended National Teams such as Beach Soccer, Futsal, Deaf, Cerebral Palsy and Power Chair, reflect the Federation’s commitment to expanding opportunities and showcasing the many ways the game can be played at the highest level.
U.S. Soccer on the Beach will be held at 3100 Ocean Front Walk in Venice adjacent to the Washington Blvd Parking Lot and is free for all fans to attend, while U.S. Soccer Insiders can access enhanced matchday experiences.
Additional details, including timing for the Beach Soccer Clinic, will be announced in the coming weeks.
