Which Cities Are Hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup?
104 matches will take place across 16 cities in the United States, Mexico and Canada



The 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup is just weeks away, and 16 cities across the United States, Canada and Mexico are preparing to welcome the tournament’s expanded 48-team field and millions of fans from around the globe.
The tournament’s opening matches will take place in both Mexico City and Toronto while the Final will be played in MetLife Stadium in New York City as the three host nations share the spotlight.
Here’s a closer look at the World Cup cities and venues hosting the 104 matches of the tournament:
Known as Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the state-of-the-art facility in downtown Atlanta is home to Atlanta United (MLS), Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and will host the Super Bowl LXII in February 2028. Atlanta soccer fans created a World Cup atmosphere when the USMNT played Belgium and Portugal in March. Nearly 140,000 fans attended the two matches in total. The stadium will host five group stage matches, one Round of 32match, one Round of 16 match and one Semifinal during the 2026 World Cup.


Gillette Stadium, the 64,000-capacity venue located in Foxborough, Massachusetts, is home to the New England Revolution (MLS) and the New England Patriots (NFL). The stadium hosted MLS Cup 2002, four games of the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup, and Copa América matches in 2016. The USMNT last played there in 2015 in a friendly against Brazil. The stadium will host five group stage matches, one Round of 32 match and one Quarterfinal.


AT&T Stadium is a retractable-roof stadium in Arlington, Texas, that serves as the home of the Dallas Cowboys (NFL). The venue has hosted multiple Copa América and Concacaf Gold Cup matches since 2009. The USMNT defeated Haiti 2-1 in a 2025 Gold Cup group stage match in its last appearance at AT&T Stadium. Five group stage matches, two Round of 32 matches, one Round of 16 match and one Semifinal will take place at the venue.


NRG Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium home to the Houston Texans (NFL). The venue previously hosted the Super Bowl in 2004 and 2017 as well as the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship. A sold-out crowd of 70,925 filled the arena in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Final between the USA and Mexico. The stadium will host five group stage matches, one Round of 32 match and one Round of 16 match.


GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium primarily serves as the home to the Kansas City Chiefs (NFL). The stadium has hosted two USMNT and three USWNT matches since 1999, including a 2024 Copa América match between the USA and Uruguay. It will host four group stage matches, one Round of 32 match and one Quarterfinal.


The USMNT will open its 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on June 12. The 70,000-capacity stadium is home to the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. It previously hosted Super Bowl LVI in 2022, the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship and the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final. It will host the opening ceremony and swimming events for the 2028 Summer Olympics, as well as five group stage matches, two Round of 32 matches and a Quarterfinal of the 2026 World Cup.


Hard Rock Stadium, located in Miami Gardens, Florida, is the home field for the Miami Dolphins (NFL) and the University of Miami’s college football team, the Miami Hurricanes. The venue has hosted multiple large-scale events including six Super Bowls, two World Series, two CFP National Championships, the 2024 Copa América Final and its annual Orange Bowl. During the World Cup, it will host four group stage matches, one Round of 32 match, one Quarterfinal and the Third Place Match.


Known as MetLife Stadium, the venue in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is the home of the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets. It is the largest stadium in New Jersey and in the NFL with a capacity of over 82,000. MetLife Stadium previously hosted the Super Bowl in 2013 and last year’s FIFA Club World Cup Final. It will host the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final as well as five group stage matches, one Round of 32 match and one Round of 16 match.


Lincoln Financial Field is the home of the Philadelphia Eagles (NFL) and Temple University’s college football team, the Temple Owls. The 67,000-capacity venue hosted four matches in the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup and last hosted the USMNT in the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup in a match against Curacao. The stadium will host five group stage matches and one Round of 16 match.


San Francisco Bay Area Stadium
Levi’s Stadium, located in Santa Clara, California, is the home of the San Francisco 49ers (NFL). The venue hosted the most recent Super Bowl in February 2026 and the 2019 CFP National Championship. The USMNT won 2-1 against Jamaica in the 2017 Concacaf Gold Cup Final in its last appearance at the stadium. The venue will host five group stage matches and one Round of 32 match.


Known as Lumen Field, the 68,000-seat venue is the home of the Seattle Sounders (MLS), Seattle Reign (NWSL) and Seattle Seahawks (NFL). The USMNT will play its second group stage match against Australia at the stadium on June 19. The team’s last appearance at Lumen Field was in 2016 when it defeated Ecuador 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the Copa América. The stadium will host four group stage matches, one Round of 32 match and one Round of 16 match during the 2026 World Cup.


Estadio Akron is a multi-purpose stadium located in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico and is home to Liga MX side C.D. Guadalajara. The stadium hosted matches for the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup and 2011 Pan American Games. The stadium will host four matches during the World Cup, all in the group stage, including Mexico's second game.


The 2026 FIFA World Cup will kick off at Estadio Banorte, a stadium located in Coyoacán, Mexico City, between Mexico and South Africa. It is the home of Club América (Liga MX), and with a capacity of 87,523, it is the largest stadium in Latin America. The venue will host three group stage matches, one Round of 32 match and one Round of 16 match.


BBVA Stadium opened in 2015 and is the home of Liga MX club C.F. Monterrey. The 53,000-capacity stadium hosted eight matches during the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship and will be the site of three group stage matches and one Round of 32 match during the 2026 World Cup.


Canada will make its 2026 FIFA World Cup debut at Toronto Stadium, also known as BMO Field. The outdoor stadium is the home of Toronto FC (MLS) and will expand its capacity to over 45,000 for the tournament. The stadium has hosted multiple soccer events including matches during the 2015 and 2023 Concacaf Gold Cups and the inaugural Campeones Cup in 2018. It will host five group stage matches and one Round of 32 match in the 2026 World Cup.


BC Place is a stadium located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and is the home of MLS club Vancouver Whitecaps FC. BC Place was the main stadium for the 2010 Winter Olympics and hosted many matches including the Final of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. It will host five group stage matches, one Round of 32 match and one Round of 16 match in the 2026 World Cup.
