U.S. Soccer Fan Council: September 2026 Update
A letter from the U.S. Soccer Fan Council to Insiders
Hi U.S. Soccer Insiders,
What an incredible year! We enjoyed meeting so many of you this summer as we followed the U.S. Men’s National Team through the 2026 FIFA World Cup. And we hope to see many more of you in the stands this fall, as our Women’s National Team competes in the CONCACAF W Championship, with a berth in next year’s Women’s World Cup on the line.
This is also a particularly exciting time for the Fan Council, because we’re preparing to hold an election! Three seats on the Fan Council will be up for a vote this fall, meaning that you have a chance to help ensure the voice of the fans are heard within U.S. Soccer.
Since applications for joining the Fan Council will be opening up soon, we thought it might be helpful to remind you of what our role is within the federation. The Fan Council meets with U.S. Soccer staff on a monthly basis to discuss issues important to the fans, learn more about federation policies, and pass along feedback that we hear from the fanbase. Some issues we’ve worked on recently include the launch of U.S. Soccer Insiders Chapters, U.S. Soccer’s ticket draw system for the 2026 World Cup, and the federation’s commitment to capping supporters’ section tickets at $45 for U.S. Soccer-managed matches through 2026. We also get three voting delegates at U.S. Soccer’s Annual General Meeting, where we vote on a number of issues including the election of U.S. Soccer’s President and Vice President, the federation’s annual budget, and changes to U.S. Soccer’s bylaws that will impact soccer from the youth level all the way to professional leagues.
More information about applying to join the Fan Council will be sent out in the next few weeks. New members will be elected to a four-year term and will be required to commit to monthly virtual meetings, as well as four in-person meetings a year. If you are passionate about improving the U.S. Soccer fan experience, willing to push ideas forward, and have a strong understanding of the U.S. Soccer fanbase and landscape, this could be a great position for you!
To apply to the Fan Council, you must be an active Insider at the Premium level or above. The individuals selected as finalists will be voted on later this fall, also by Insiders at the Premium level or above. If you are not a Premium Insider and are interested in applying for or voting on the Fan Council, now would be a good time to upgrade your membership.
