Hi U.S. Soccer Insiders,
We recently got back from representing all of you at the 2026 U.S. Soccer Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Atlanta. AGM brings together representatives from more than a hundred soccer organizations from around the country, and there was a lot of energy around the upcoming World Cup.
As your elected Fan Council reps, we made sure fan priorities stayed front and center:
We also got to vote on issues including the reelection of Cindy Parlow Cone as U.S. Soccer President, the approval of U.S. Soccer's FY 2027 budget, various amendments to U.S. Soccer's bylaws, and the addition of two new U.S. Soccer member organizations (Project Inspire Foundation and the United Adaptive Soccer Association). Thanks to the growth of the Insiders program, we received an additional voting delegate this year. We take our voting responsibilities seriously and always aim to vote in the way that best serves the fanbase.
World Cup ticketing has been a hot topic. Although FIFA controls most of the World Cup ticketing process, including pricing, we've been heavily engaged with U.S. Soccer on developing a fair system for distributing the tickets that FIFA provides to the federation. That resulted in U.S. Soccer holding a weighted lottery for Insiders that, for the first time, gave priority to long-term fans, plus a separate lottery for supporter groups. U.S. Soccer also offered Insiders an additional opportunity to apply for tickets to non-USMNT matches. We really appreciate U.S. Soccer's willingness to work with us to try to get as many tickets as possible in the hands of our fans.
More to come as the World Cup gets closer. ⚽
