U.S. Soccer Weekly Recap: USWNT Forwards Shine in NWSL, Dest and Pepi Combine for PSV Winner
USWNT, USMNT and Youth National Team players make their mark in domestic and international play

It was a big week for U.S. Soccer players, with standout performances coming from stars across the USWNT, USMNT and Youth National Teams.
USWNT forwards Trinity Rodman, Ally Sentnor and Emma Sears found the back of the net in NWSL action, while USMNT stars Ricardo Pepi and Auston Trusty helped their clubs to victories overseas.
As for the next generation, USYNT standout Chase Adams made history with the Columbus Crew, while the U-17 WNT picked up its first win of its August camp at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center.
Here's a look at last week’s biggest moments from across the U.S. Soccer player pool:

Trinity Rodman, Ally Sentnor score milestone goals at BMO Stadium
The final match of week 17 in NWSL play between Angel City FC and the Washington Spirit featured spectacular goals from two USWNT forwards. After a back-and-forth but scoreless first half, Trinity Rodman opened the scoring for the Spirit in the 65th minute with a left-footed shot about 10 yards out. The goal was assisted by USWNT defender Tara Rudd and marked Rodman's 10th goal of the season, setting a career-high and moving her to third in the Golden Boot race.
ACFC rescued a point in late fashion behind a stunning long-range equalizer by Ally Sentnor. After having a goal overturned in the first half, Sentnor got her redemption in the 85th minute. She received the ball near the left side of the field and dribbled centrally before launching her shot from behind the penalty arc into the top right corner for her first ACFC goal since joining the squad nearly two months ago.

Emma Sears reaches 20th career goal with Racing Louisville
Also finding the back of the net in NWSL play was forward Emma Sears, who recorded her 20th professional career goal in Racing Louisville’s 4-1 win over Boston Legacy. Already up 2-0 at the start of the second half, midfielder Katie O’Kane lofted a ball into box near the penalty spot for Sears, who connected first-touch to redirect the ball towards the bottom left corner of the goal. It was Sears’ fifth goal of the season and third in her last two games.

Sergiño Dest finds Ricardo Pepi for PSV game-winner
Dutch club and reigning Eredivisie champion PSV earned its first win of the season thanks to a 57th minute game-winner from USMNT forward Ricardo Pepi. PSV took an early lead before Excelsior found the equalizer soon after halftime. Moments later, USMNT midfielder Sergiño Dest played a give-and-go down the right side before sending a cross into the box. Pepi connected from close range to slot home the game-winner and his 35th career goal for PSV.

Auston Trusty gets on the scoreboard for Celtic
Coming off his first international goal for the USMNT in the World Cup this summer, defender Auston Trusty has carried his momentum into club play. The center back scored the opening goal in Celtic's 4-0 win over Dundee United last weekend in the Round of 16 in the Scottish League Cup. Trusty flicked in a header off a corner kick in the 22nd minute for his first goal of the season.

Chase Adams becomes youngest Columbus Crew scorer
At 18 years and 120 days, USYNT star Chase Adams became the youngest player in Columbus Crew history to score a goal in the regular season. The striker got on the scoreboard just before halftime in the Crew’s match against Charlotte FC, rising over two defenders to send a powerful header into the back of the net. Adams competed in the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup last year after finishing as the top scorer in the Concacaf U-17 World Cup Qualifiers with 10 goals. He most recently competed with the U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team in June.
