2027 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds Conclude with 16-Match Finale
Sixteen amateur clubs will punch their tickets into the 112th edition of U.S. Soccer's national club championship on weekend of Nov. 21

ATLANTA – U.S. Soccer today announced the draw and schedule for the Final Qualifying Round of the 2027 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup as 32 amateur clubs will look to punch their ticket into next year's Tournament Proper. The matches will be played Nov. 21-22.
The U.S. Open Cup, U.S. Soccer's national club championship, is entering its 112th edition and is the only U.S. team sport competition in which amateurs have the chance to compete directly against professionals.

A record 155 amateur clubs entered the Qualifying Rounds this year, competing for 16 available slots in the Tournament Proper, which kicks off next spring. The 16 teams that advance will join 16 additional amateur sides that automatically qualified and will each face a professional club in April's First Round.
With the goal of minimizing overall total travel distance, matchups for the Qualifying Rounds were determined by a combination of geographical considerations and random selection. Host teams are determined by random selection.
The Final Qualifying Round kicks off with one of the most intriguing matchups of the weekend, as Philadelphia Lone Star FC—which overcame a three-goal deficit in the Third Qualifying Round—and the 95-year-old Vereinigung Erzgebirge will face off with a chance to add to eastern Pennsylvania’s rich Open Cup history. Like the early days of the Open Cup, both sides—each chasing a third Tournament Proper appearance—were founded by immigrants who started a new life in Philadelphia: Germans who established VE in the 1930s and Liberians who founded the Stars in 2001.
In New York, two of the most accomplished amateur sides in recent years will meet at Tibbetts Park, as APSL side Lansdowne Yonkers FC and UPSL side NY Renegades FC each seek a third Tournament Proper appearance this decade. On the other side of the Hudson River, the 75-year-old SC Vistula Garfield is eyeing a second successive Tournament Proper appearance after ending a half-decade Tournament Proper absence a year ago. The historic APSL side will host UPSL side and fellow New Jersey foe Bulldogs SC, as the visitors will be eager to qualify for the Tournament Proper for the first time in club history by exacting their revenge against Vistula following last year’s Third Qualifying Round loss.
In Boston, historic Bay State Soccer League side CD Faialense will look to advance to the Tournament Proper for the third consecutive year, facing off against Fall River FC. For Fall River, the young UPSL side is chasing its first Tournament Proper appearance, following in the footsteps of Fall River's Open Cup giants of yesteryear: the five-time champion Fall River Marksmen (1924, 1927, 1930, 1931 and 1932) and the Fall River Rovers, who won the competition in 1917.
Outside of the historic cradle of soccer that is the northeastern United States, the Final Qualifying Round will touch nearly every corner of the country. Out west, red-hot Southwest Premier League side JSC Jasa—boasting a +20 goal differential across its two Qualifying Round contests—will close its first Qualifying Round participation with a test against fellow Bay Area side Napa Valley 1839 FC in Redwood City, Calif. Nearby, San Ramon FC will host Seattle’s Bellevue Athletic FC as the hosts aim to return to the Tournament Proper for the second time in as many years, denying Bellevue a potential first Tournament Proper appearance in the process.
Down the California coast, another pair of sides that frequent the Qualifying Rounds—San Diego Internacional FC and DC Monsters—will match up in San Diego. Outside of Phoenix, UPSL’s Next Level Soccer will host Colorado Premier League side and Qualifying Round regulars Harpos FC with a first Tournament Proper appearance on the line for the former.
Just north of Oklahoma City, The League for Clubs’ Oklahoma United FC is seeking its first Tournament Proper appearance in its first Qualifying Round participation. The upstart club will face experienced FORO SC, which has reached the Tournament Proper twice in the last three years and defeated professional opponents in both 2024 and 2025. In Houston, ASC New Stars will look to add to their nearly 70 trophies collected over 50 years of competition as they face RGV Red Crowns, which is concluding its first Qualifying Round campaign.
A UPSL clash in the Midwest will see nascent sides Omaha Street FC and Chicago Nation FC face off in Nebraska with a first Tournament Proper berth on the line. In northeastern Ohio, two statistically dominant sides—USL League Two’s Akron City FC and the UPSL’s Tennessee Tempo FC—will match up. In this year’s Qualifying Rounds, Akron City has averaged more than three goals per contest while Tennessee Tempo has not conceded a single goal. Additionally, a DMV-area matchup between Pittsburgh-inspired Yinz United and UPSL side DC Hyper will see the winner earn its first Tournament Proper appearance.
Three additional matchups in the southeast will also be on offer in the Final Qualifying Round. SCU Heat will take on Qualifying Round debutant Swarm FC in hopes of qualifying for the Tournament Proper for the first time since the 2024 tournament in which they knocked off professional outfit Crown Legacy FC. The Final Qualifying Round will also feature two all-UPSL affairs in Florida. On Saturday, Inter City FC and Pinellas County United Pelicans SC will battle with an inaugural Tournament Proper appearance on the line. Later, Harbor City FC and Florida Badgers FC will meet on Sunday, as each side will hope to lock up a return to the Tournament Proper.
