JT Batson
CEO and Secretary General
Bio
JT Batson has served as CEO and Secretary General of the U.S. Soccer Federation since September 2022, leading major initiatives to grow and strengthen the game at every level across the country.
A passionate and strategic leader, JT has played a key role in shaping the future of soccer in the U.S. He was the driving force behind the creation of the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center—the future home of soccer in America—designed to elevate long-term competitive success. He also led the search for Sporting Director Matt Crocker and supported the hiring of USWNT head coach Emma Hayes and USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Under JT’s leadership, U.S. Soccer launched The U.S. Way, a strategy focused on enabling excellence at all levels, and Soccer Forward, the legacy program for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As the U.S. prepares to co-host that tournament and bids to host the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup, JT has led efforts to support and engage potential host cities nationwide.
Committed to making soccer more accessible and inclusive, JT introduced U.S. Soccer’s “in service to soccer” approach — strengthening transparency, engagement, and support for local soccer organizations across the country.
He has sharpened the Federation’s focus on three core priorities in service to soccer:
- Soccer Everywhere– ensuring everyone, everywhere can experience the joy of the game
- Soccer Success – helping U.S. Soccer’s 27 National Teams and pro leagues thrive on the global stage
- Soccer Investment – building sustainable growth through strategic, diversified funding
A lifelong supporter of the game, JT grew up playing for Augusta Arsenal in Georgia. He’s been a coach, referee, referee assignor, and field volunteer—and continues to give back as a member of the Augusta Arsenal Soccer Club advisory board.
Before joining U.S. Soccer, JT built a successful career as an executive and entrepreneur in media, advertising, and technology. He was CEO and co-founder of Hudson MX, a software company based in New York and Atlanta. Earlier, he served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Greylock Partners and Accel and began his tech journey as an early employee at Mozilla.
JT holds a B.A. in Political Science from Stanford University, where he earned the J.E. Wallace Sterling Award. He now serves on Stanford’s Undergraduate Cabinet and has guest lectured at the University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design and Graduate School of Business.
He also serves on the boards of the New York City Ballet, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and StartOut, a nonprofit supporting LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs.
