Michael Karon is Senior Advisor to the CEO, advising the Executive Leadership Team on business and strategy across the amateur soccer landscape. He partners with U.S. Soccer staff and member organizations to deliver solutions that strengthen soccer communities nationwide. His lifelong passion is using soccer as a force to make communities stronger.

Before assuming his current role, Michael served U.S. Soccer as a member of the Board of Directors, Vice Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, and Interim Chief Financial Officer. His leadership builds on more than 55 years as a grassroots soccer volunteer, including over 20 years delivering community-based programming in Southern California that reached hundreds of thousands of children. He also served 10 years on the AYSO National Board, including five years as National President.

Before joining U.S. Soccer, Michael built a 30-year executive career across finance and technology companies, including two start-ups he co-founded.

A committed Bruin, Michael holds an AB degree in Chinese and an MBA in Finance from UCLA and serves on the UCLA Humanities Dean Advisory Council. Michael lives in Los Angeles with his wife Carolyn. In the rare moments when he is not engaged in soccer activities, Michael spends his time visiting his grandchildren, traveling to far flung parts of the world and discovering new food and wine pairings.
