EPISODE 9: Robbie Rogers

In this week’s episode of The U.S. Soccer Podcast, Jordan Angeli and Charlie Davies welcome former U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder and two-time MLS Cup champion Robbie Rogers to the show.

Rogers, who made history in 2013 by becoming the first openly game male professional athlete in North America to participate in a team sport, discusses Pride Month in the era of COVID-19, coming out to his family and the public, his current career in television production and the causes he has been championing.

Longtime teammates with the USYNT and USMNT, Rogers and Davies recall how their friendship started and grew, specifically recounting the aftermath of Davies’ unfortunate car crash in 2009.
