NOVA GORICA, Slovenia (April 29, 2019)—The U.S. Under-15 Boys’ National Team lost 1-0 to Slovenia in its second game at the 2019 Torneo delle Nazioni. The USA faced Slovenia on its home soil as the host struck just after the half for the game’s lone goal.

Slovenia forced a misplayed pass from the USA and pounced on the ball near the center circle, quickly transitioning to attack and quickly working it past the American back line. While the defense attempted to recover, Enej Marsetic struck a hard shot with his right foot to the far post past goalkeeper Damian Alguera for the goal that proved to be the difference.

The USA next faces regional rival Mexico on Tuesday, April 30 in its final Group C match.

The 19-player roster for the Torneo delle Nazioni is made up of 18 players born in 2004 and one player born in 2005. All fourteen U.S.-based players currently compete in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. Two players are already signed to professional contracts, while one has already made his pro debut.
