Under-20s: Donovan made six international appearance in 2014, starting five  … Under-17s: Donovan earned 29 caps and scored two goals for the U-17 MNT from 2011-13. Both of his goals came during the 2012 campaign – the opening goal of a 3-2 win against Denmark on Jan. 18 at the Aegean Cup in Turkey and the game-winning goal en route to a 3-1 victory against Uruguay on Oct. 21. Donovan played in every minute of the USA’s championship run at the 2011 Nike International Friendlies. He also earned the full 270 minutes during the 2013 CONCACAF U-17 Championship in Panama.

After training with the professional side, Donovan finally made his NASL debut with the Carolina RailHawks during a 2-1 victory against the San Antonio Scorpions on Nov. 2, 2013. Donovan’s second appearance with the RailHawks included a goal during their 2-1 victory against Mexican side Puebla on July 6, 2014.

Donovan joined the Development Academy in 2013-14, competing for Capital Area RailHawks Academy – CASL’s U-18 squad. Donovan previously played club ball with North Carolina Alliance.

Donovan completed his freshman season with N.C. State in 2014, tallying a goal and an assist in 15 games. His lone goal was the game-winner in overtime of a 2-1 road victory against South Carolina on Oct. 21.
